Podiums, Kona Qualifiers and a little bit extra!

November 6

Ironman 70.3 Buenos Aires
Rei fought hard at 70.3 Buenos Aires to finish with the silver medal at the South American 70.3 Championships. In a lead group of 3 after the bike, and fighting for first, he dropped off the winners pace at 9km into the run. Still a good showing for Rei and good training as he chases Olympic 2020 selection points.

Ironman Florida
Unlike many, Pedro hasn’t been on an off-season break since Kona. Instead we focused on Ironman Florida and building on his fitness. A solid swim and bike still left plenty of work to be done on the run, which saw Pedro produce the fastest run to move into 3rd place in his category and 17th overall. He secured his place at Kona for 2019. Well done Pedro. Now some recovery and planning of next year.

Dubai International Triathlon
The Dubai International Tri served as a great training race for Shannon in the build to her upcoming Ironman; the goal was to nail a longer bike effort under race conditions. After a good swim, Shannon had somehow missed the memo that the bike was now a  3 looped course rather than 4 loops. An extra hard loop of riding in the desert was actually an excellent  (although unintended) outcome!  Well done Shannon for keeping your head and cranking out a solid run afterwards, a valuable training day in the bank.

5150 Subic Bay
John raced in what is almost a local race, the 5150 Subic Bay. Using his fast run pace, Rambo ran into a super 3rd place, and was also first in the Asian Elite category. Well done
