Description
Join Trisutto coach Mirjam Weerd in early February for a 6 day getaway training camp in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote. The camp will provide you with personalised coaching suited to Olympic distance through to long course athletes. You’ll get individual advice on swim, bike and run while applying Trisutto.com training methods to improve your performance.

All sessions will be tailored to your own performance and goals, with individual advice to ensure you get the most from the camp. In that way anyone can join, all levels welcome.

Agenda
During the camp you will get individual advice on swim, bike and run techniques, while applying the Trisutto training methods to improve your performance. No two camps are the same but a typical camp will include 18-22 hours of training across all three disciplines. All depending on your individual level. 

Aspects that are covered during the camp are:
  • Training philosophy – learn Trisutto principles of periodisation, the training mix, psychology + physiology, athlete development and the use of races within these considerations.
  • Swim training – techniques for the individual athlete, use of swim tools, stroke correction.
  • Bike training – positioning, technique for the individual athlete, bicycle and component selection, skills, tools.
  • Run training – technique for the individual athlete, shoe choice, use of run tools (hills, track, treadmill, road).
  • Triathlon – integration of swim, bike and run into the one training approach.
  • Stretching – massage, warm up and warm downs.
  • Injuries – prevention, treatment, athlete mentality and training around or through them.
  • Race execution – strategy for the individual athlete and season goals. 

The mornings will start with a pre-breakfast workout (often Swim)
Following the swim, and depending on weather, we will either do a cycling or run session (or both).

Equipment:
Cycling: Whether you take your time trial or road bike to the camp, it is up to you. On the time trial bike, it is always a competition-specific training. Much more important, however, is the right gear ratio - otherwise it will be tough on the mountains. 
Swimming: We swim in a heated 25m outdoor pool. Please bring Pull Buoy and Paddles with you. 
Running: We will run on both pavement along the coast and a dirt road loop near the resort for tempo/hills.

Avg 19deg, highs of 24 and lows of 16. Can be quite windy, but generally low rainfall.

Papagayo Bike (On-site) + The Bike Station (Near-by)

Transportation:
  • Flying - Lanzarote International Airport. 
  • Driving - Taxi’s are available, the Resort is 15km from the airport. 
  • Transfers - Regular Sands Beach Resort shuttle buses run to and from the airport.

I would call myself still a newbie in triathlon sport but with Mirjam at my side I got right into it :) we started to work together in 2017 and with her experience and years as athlete she teached me a lot. No matter if are the athlete who needs to be motivated or rather stopped from overdoing- she understands you and makes it fit! with her simply open minded way of life, humour and fun at triathlon she just gives you the little extra kick to be and give the best each session or race. She will find the right words and trainings to make you feel comfortable and able to achieve whatever you are aiming for! For me within 6 months that was to qualify for the 70.3 worlds 2018 and we made it. No doubt that you need to work hard for it but if you want to have a laugh while doing it- she is the one! ;) besides all the fun I feel like whatever problem is coming up she will find a way to get us training trough it. She just understands, adjusts if needed and keeps looking at the big picture. The are more challenges ahead and I can’t wait to face them with Mirjam

 After having had an injury that obliged me to do any kind of sports during a three-month period, Mirjam helped me to get into a regular training again. Thanks to her, I could finish my second Ironman 10 months later successfully in a faster time than my first one. She is a very empathetic coach with a huge knowledge. Since I have worked with Mirjam, my learning curve regarding my training and racing has been very steep.
